If there's something you want to do as a mentor-mentee group and see a need for money beyond what your group members can provide, contact the WBI Braintrust at law-wellbeing@umn.edu. WBI may be able to buy some things for you, but please be mindful, as we have a limited budget for all of WBI.
Mentors and mentees are eligible for the WBI Transcript Milestones. Read more on the Milestone Program page.
Please share with your group the bounds of your reporting requirements. Having this information will allow group members to make informed decisions about whether to share impacted information with you or a confidential resource. If someone shares impacted information before you are able to inform them of your reporting requirement, let them know that you are required to share what they told you.
Students at the University of Minnesota Law School are bound by the Honor Code to report Honor Code violations (e.g., cheating or plagiarism). For more information, contact the Assistant Dean of Students (lawdos@umn.edu) or Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (law-ad@umn.edu).
Employees of the University are required to report certain sexual misconduct (e.g. sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, relationship violence) to the Title IX office. For more information and for whom to contact in the event a reporting obligation arises, please see the University policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Stalking and Relationship Violence.
If someone is harming themself or others, or is at risk of doing so, a good and responsible thing to do is to share what you know with a person who can help, such as the Assistant Dean of Students (lawdos@umn.edu).
If you are concerned about a person's well-being, you can direct them to Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL) or have LCL reach out. Many other resources available outside of the Law School are listed at campus-climate.umn.edu/resources-concern.
Mentors and mentees signed the ethics agreement as a recognition of our commitment to empowering WBI members in making our community welcoming for everyone.
