An Environmental Services Employee is assigned to the Academic Office Building daily Monday – Friday typically during the second shift. Employee time away may affect this schedule. During staffing shortage(s), priority is given to support of patient care spaces.
The Environmental Service phone number is 612-273-4245 or Ascom *14841. To access the Ascom number, call the hospital number 612-273-3555 and enter 14841 when prompted for an extension.
Trash is collected according to the following schedule:
Daily in common areas (lobby, elevator, conference rooms, breakroom/kitchen)
As indicated by occupants in personal workstations.
Occupants of offices and cubes to place their personal trash basket outside of their offices/cubes to indicate requested service.
Alternatively, occupants may place their personal trash in a common trash bin.
For items that do not fit into a personal waste basket, occupants will clearly indicate that the item is trash when left outside their space.
Restrooms are cleaned daily, Monday - Friday.
Recycling is planned to be collected weekly from common areas (lobby, elevator, conference rooms, breakroom/kitchen). Occupants to place individual non-confidential recycling in recycling bins in common area. For cardboard box recycling, clearly labeled them as recycling and place items outside of office.
Additional service can be requested through contacting Environmental Services directly.
Recycling of confidential documents is not a service of Environmental Services. Confidential documents must be placed in the Shred-It bins located on each floor. These are emptied weekly, currently on Friday, by Shred-It.
Vacuuming is planned to be weekly in common areas (main hallways, lobby, elevator, conference rooms, breakroom/kitchen). Vacuuming of individual spaces is still under discussion. There is an on-site vacuum available for occupant use as needed; contact the AOB Concierge for access.
Dusting/sanitizing is planned to be monthly in common areas (main hallways, lobby, elevator, conference rooms, breakroom/kitchen). Dusting/sanitizing of individual spaces is not provided. Departments/divisions may purchase appropriate cleaning supplies for their area. The AOB Concierge also has a limited amount of available cleaning supplies.
