As a University of Minnesota staff member working in Handshake, you have a few resources available to you. If you find yourself with questions about Handshake, these are the places to go:
Handshake's Help Center is full of articles addressing how their platform works. Either go to the Help tab if you are logged into Handshake or go to support.joinhandshake.com.
The UMN Handshake Toolkit (this site) houses our UMN specific processes and policies for Handshake. Use the search function in the top right corner to quickly find the topic you need. The z-link for this site is z.umn.edu/handshakeadmin.
If you still have questions, reach out to the Handshake Users Google Group by emailing handshakeadmin@umn.edu or email the Handshake Program Manager, Katie Kovarik, in Career Services Administration by emailing kovar051@umn.edu.
Each career center has a designated Handshake Superuser who is the point person for all things Handshake in the college(s)/campus represented by that office. Your Superuser will set you up with a Handshake profile, the appropriate training, access to the google group and any Handshake resources necessary for your role. Your Superuser is your first point of contact for Handshake questions.
All administrative users of Handshake should sign up for the Handshake Users Google Group. This tool is utilized as a sounding-board for day-to-day questions/concerns that arise with the use of Handshake.
How to subscribe:
If your Superuser has not subscribed you, send an email to Becky Hall (rahrah@umn.edu) requesting to be added to the Handshake User Group - Google Group.
The Handshake Usersgroup is made up of all administrative users of Handshake at the UMN. Anyone subscribed to the Handshake Google Group is invited to Handshake Usersgroup meetings. There is a regular monthly meeting to discuss product updates, policy changes, and any issues or questions that have come up. Then there are irregular special interest meetings on specific Handshake related topics as needs arise.
