Closed College fairs and events will limit access to majors with your college’s system label. To grant access to students who do not have your college system label, follow the instructions on the ‘How to Invite Students to an Event Handshake article’.
Read the Double Majors with Multiple Colleges Student policy to learn more about how a student with a double major maps to a specific college system label.
To apply a discount to a career fair registration follow the instruction on the Handshake Article - Career Fairs: Applying a Discount to a Registration.
The discount does not occur through Handshake, you must follow the steps on our UMN Events & Fairs - Employer Refund process to ensure the employer is reimbursed.
If employers cancel after designated cancellation date for any career fair, follow these steps:
First late cancellation, add the label “fair - late cancellation” to the employer account, and add a note specifying details (i.e. name of fair, number of days before the fair, name of recruiter, and any additional information).
Second late cancel, discuss the organization and contact during the next Handshake Users Group meeting.
Add a note titled “SECOND FAIR - LATE CANCELLATION” of discussion from meeting into Handshake.
Third late cancellation: block and flag the organization in Handshake.
Each career office hosts multiple Career Fairs per year, to ensure you are able to get the most accurate reporting information and that the career fair is easily viewable on an RSS feed, add the year at the end of the Career Fair Name (e.g., CEHD Health and Recreation Career Fair 2020).
If a fair is virtual, place Virtual at the end of the fair’s name (e.g., CEHD Health and Recreation Career Fair 2020 - Virtual)
If a fair has the same name for each semester, include the semester in the fair’s name (e.g., CEHD Health and Recreation Fair Fall 2020)...
