In this seminar I will present a history of breakthroughs in the field of fish mucosal immunology and my personal journey in this field. The talk will cover both basic and applied immunology concepts and how can this be honed in the field of mucosal vaccination.
Irene Salinas is a Professor at the Biology Department, University of New Mexico. She did her PhD at the University of Murcia, Spain, on fish gut immunity and probiotics. Her research interests are fish mucosal immunology, host-microbiota interactions, fish vaccinology and neuroimmunology. She is a strong advocate and active ally for equity and inclusion in STEM.
