Each fall the program contacts Counselor Education students with applications for scholarships. Below is a description of the available scholarships.
The Sunny Hansen BORN FREE Scholarship Fund
The BORN FREE Scholarship Fund was established at the University of Minnesota through the generosity of Dr. Sunny Hansen and her husband, Tor. This fund honors Dr. Hansen’s career as a faculty member in the College and counseling and student personnel psychology (CSPP), and her dedication to the field of career development.
The BORN FREE Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student who is working in the field of career development through CSPP or counselor education (CE).

This fund supports students and special projects within the Counselor Education program.

Professor Kay Herting Wahl Memorial Fellowship
This fund will provide financial support to graduate degree seeking students studying towards a degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology and who are planning to become licensed K-12 school counselor.
