Pre-Award Support
The pilot phase of the CSE pre-award initiative began on September 8, 2026. CSE Pre-Award is available to assist PIs with grant proposals, including budget development, MN-GEMS entry, application portal entry, and document compilation and review. Click here for the team's full range of services and requested lead times.
To request service, please submit the intake form at z.umn.edu/cse-preaward-intake.
CSE Pre-Award provides opt-in services. If you prefer to manage your proposal independently or only need limited support, you can indicate that on the form. We ask that PIs submit an intake form for all proposals, even if you are not requesting support, so we can track the use of our team's services.
In this pilot phase, the CSE pre-award team will take the lead in MN-GEMS entry and budget development rather than the CEMS finance team. If you would like support with MN-GEMS entry and budget development, please request this via the intake form, rather than contacting department accountants. The pre-award team will work closely with finance staff to keep them in the loop and ensure budgets are accurate.
