MCMG Inclement Weather Policy:
We observe Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) closing protocol and guidelines which impacts MCMG as follows:
if MCPS closes or is canceled for that day, our in-person event/program is cancelled.
if MCPS opens late, we will start our program at that time.
Our in-person Monthly Membership meetings are held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Therefore, Montgomery County Master Gardeners follow the Fairgrounds’ inclement weather policy. The Fairgrounds observe Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) closing protocol and guidelines which impacts MCMG as follows:
if MCPS closes or is canceled for that day, our in-person program is cancelled.
if MCPS opens late, we still start our program on time and in-person.
*At the discretion of the MCMG Co-Ordinator, the in-person program or monthly meeting may change to a virtual meeting. If a change in venue is made, details will be communicated in a timely manner to all members via GroupsIO.
Master Gardeners should note that the "And Justice For All" Civil Rights poster is the primary method utilized to inform customers of their rights, responsibilities and displays information relevant to assisted programs. Recipients of federally-assisted programs, such as land-grant institutions are required to display this poster in their facilities where it can be viewed by customers and while conducting program delivery. This required poster should be displayed in the specific size of 11" width x 17" height.
University of Maryland guidance: Adults do not have an expectation of privacy in public spaces when they are photographed inadvertently or appear in a group or event photo, so no release is required. As a courtesy, you should ask someone's permission if they are the principal subject of the photograph. For personal/legal reasons, a Master Gardener may request in writing to the Master Gardener Coordinator that no photos of them be used publicly. If this is the case, please help us out by reminding us that you would not like to be in any photos during our events.
When working with youth or in other situations where you will need a photo release form, you may use the following release forms:
