Groups.io
Most Montgomery County Master Gardeners belong to the Business Group (the main MCMG membership email group) and Social Group email "groups.io" (known as "Gardeners Connected") that serve as a way to communicate within our entire organization. Additionally, several email subgroups are available to communicate within Committees.
Your use of email groups and subgroups on the Groups.io platform should comply with the Usage Guidelines for Montgomery County Master Gardener Email Groups and Subgroups. For more details regarding each of the groups and subgroups, please review the information below.

MG Business Groups.io
MG Business Groups.io (mcmg@groups.io) is used to communicate information that benefits/impacts all Montgomery County Master Gardeners and that is related to our organization, not specific individuals or small groups. Each communication should benefit or impact the entire Montgomery County Master Gardener organization.
Once you join this email group, you will be able to email MG Business Groups.io and your message will be distributed automatically to all Montgomery County Master Gardeners who are members. You, in turn, will receive email messages sent by your fellow Master Gardeners. You may elect to receive a daily digest of emails in one message which summarizes all Groups.io messages and replies sent in the past 24 hours.
To send a message to the MCMG Business Group, type mcmg@groups.io in the To: field of your email message. You must be a member of the mcmg group list to send a message to this list.
Example Communications
Example messages in the MG Business Groups.io include information regarding MG meetings, announcements, volunteer opportunities and communications, scheduled events (including gardening related webinars, classes and lectures), plant sales (remember we do not endorse any commercially-sponsored or commercially-hosted event), and job openings for garden related employment.

MG Social Groups.io (also known as "Gardeners Connected")
The intention of Gardeners Connected is to communicate things that are of a more personal or social nature amongst the Montgomery County Master Gardeners. As long as your communication is done in a respectful manner there really are no prohibitions on what can be discussed on Gardeners Connected.
To send a message to the MG Social Groups.io (a.k.a. "Gardeners Connected"), type mcmg@gardeners-connected.groups.io in the To: field of your email message, or click 'New Topic' which is in the list on the left-hand side of the messages page in groups.io. You must be a member of the Gardeners Connected group list to send a message to this list.

Example Communications
Examples of items that would be appropriate would be comments on books, articles, cooking recipes, personal gardening experiences, items for giveaway or swapping, requesting plant identification, insect and disease that benefits one's self.

To send a message to the Derwood Demo garden group email list, enter ddg@mcmg.groups.io in the To: field of your email message. You must be a member of the ddg group list to send a message to this list.
