My experience that I will bring to the position includes being president of multiple clubs/honor societies in my high school, as well as the jobs I had partaken in where I was given tasks like handling business deals for medical products and scheduling patients' appointments, as well as being in charge of marketing on social media for the medical practice. Through my experience, I had learned how to handle important business decisions, as well as how to successfully work and aid others.
As a Financial Board Representative, I intend to fulfill my role by making sure as a collective we are able to work together and successfully come up with plans to both benefits and even improve the financial structures of our university. If there's a conflict within the Board, I will make it a priority that every opinion and voice is valued and heard so that everyone can collectively agree to a decision and the conflict is relinquished.
My vision for the funds to allocate student organizations is to redistribute funds evenly so that more money can be allocated for old and new student organizations to properly function. I will also use strong marketing strategies (ie. social media, fundraisers, etc.) in hopes of increasing more funds for general funding of the school, which includes student organizations.
I think the Financial Board has done a wonderful job monitoring and aiding funds for UMBC. A lot of their contributions have gotten UMBC the ranking it has today, considering UMBC is one of the top schools in Maryland. If I was given the honor of being elected as the Financial Board Representative, I would use my strong background knowledge on finance to further improve the financial system for UMBC.
