Accessible Resources & Services
For medical reasons, this is a fragrance-aware workplace. Please do NOT wear cologne, perfume, scented lotion, etc. while visiting. Thank you!
The TJRC continues to be a hub for accessible resources and supports at UGDSB. Our work is multifaceted and provides resources to support educators and staff in learning and teaching more about accessibility, as well as on-site supports for mobility and accessible use of our physical spaces.
Accessibility on-site at TJRC
TJRC is a scent-free environment and is fully wheelchair accessible, including both our external and internal doors as well as the washrooms across the hall. Our physical space also ensures adequate accessible pathways between bookshelves, tables, and workstations to support UGDSB staff with varied mobility needs.
Augmentative Communication Devices
The TJRC houses a collection of augmentative communication devices, including various models of Go Talk, BIGmack communicators, switches, and sensory items. This collection is curated in collaboration with the board's Communication Language Speech department.

Additional accessibility supports
"The Centre for Equitable Library Access, CELA, is an accessible library service, providing books and other materials to Canadians with print disabilities.
The CELA Educator Access Program offers Canadian K-12 and postsecondary educators who support students with print disabilities free access to thousands of accessible reading materials through your public library’s CELA service, including Bookshare."
UGDSB has a partnership with Wellington County Library that ensures educators throughout our board can access CELA.
