Project reviews are often completed in about 24-48 hours from submission, something that Udacity strives for! Due to the high volume of submissions and the time it may take your project reviewer to give personalized feedback, the turnaround time for your project evaluations sometimes maybe as high as 1 week.
Every time you submit a project, you will receive in-depth, personalized feedback on your project submission from one of our expert project reviewers. They will not only tell you what you got right and wrong, but they will also provide guidance on what you should try next, and give suggestions on how you can go even further with your project. Once your review is ready, you will get an email to notify you and you will be able to view it. There are three results for the review:
Meets Specifications: This means you passed your project as you met all requirements.
Requires Changes: This means that you failed your project. However, the reviewer will highlight which part that requires to be edited so that you pass the project on your next submission. You can resubmit your project again after editing it through your classroom.
Ungradeable: This means that the reviewer was not able to grade your project. This could be because you either submitted the wrong files or the files submitted can not be opened because they are in an unsupported format. You can resubmit your project again from your classroom after addressing these issues.
Udacity reviewers come from different backgrounds but they are united in 3 critical ways:
Their skills are exemplary and their knowledge is exceptional.
They are committed to your success.
Their work is consistently monitored to ensure it embodies Udacity values and meets Udacity standards.
You can always reach out to your Session Leads on Slack. They can answer your questions, point you to helpful resources, and give you guidance on strategies for program success. You can also discuss your questions regarding a project in your Weekly Connect Sessions
If your project "Requires Changes," your reviewer will leave you plenty of feedback to help you. Take a close look at the feedback and comments they provide and make adjustments to your project. Once you feel you’ve made the required corrections, resubmit your project.
There is no limit to the number of time you can resubmit a project until you have 'Met Specifications'.
But once you have met specifications for your project you will no longer have the option to resubmit. Once a project has met specifications, we consider that the student will want to move on to the next set of skills.
Below you will find different error messages that our system generates and how to resolve them while submitting a project:
Please clear your cache and log back into your Udacity classroom. When you’re ready to submit, please double-check that your files are properly zipped and reattempt.
If the issue continues, please email review-support@udacity.com with the following:
Email associated with your Udacity Account.
The name of the project you are attempting to submit.
The files you are attempting to upload.
Screenshots of the error message you are experiencing.
Have you checked to see if you included the node_modules folder? This folder can include multiple files that can cause this error and to resolve you can remove starter_code/frontend/env/ and /starter_code/frontend/node_modules from your submission.
This error appears when you already have a submission awaiting review for the project in the system. You can view instructions on how to cancel your project here if you need to do so.
This error appears when you already have a submission awaiting review for the project in the system. You can view instructions on how to cancel your project here if you need to do so.
This error appears when you submit a file type that is not supported for the project. When submitting you should see under the option "Upload File" a list of the file types we accept for the project.
We think of projects as a way for the student to demonstrate mastery of a certain set of skills. Once a project has met specifications, we expect the student to want to move on to the next set of skills. So there currently is no way to resubmit a project. You can see the result of your project submission at the top of the "Project Review" tab on the review of your project.
