How Does Transfer Status Relate to Stress Levels when Considering this Quarter?
The purpose of our study was to evaluate the relationship between transfer status and stress levels.
Using a convenience sampling survey with 193 participants in an introductory psychology class at a 4-year public university, students filled out an online stress overload survey based on their current stress levels. All three groups showed moderate stress levels, with continuing students averaging slightly higher than 2-year transfers, and 4-year transfers having the lowest results. The research yielded no significant differences between transfer status and stress levels.
The use of convenience sampling and a small sample size may be factors that limited the reliability of our results. Research on the stress levels of transfer students is crucial for providing adequate resources to all students.
