An Analysis of Isolation within On- and Off-Campus Students
Our main goal is to investigate UCSC students' sense of isolation associated with living on versus off campus. Participants completed a questionnaire that asked them about their place of residence along with their sense of belonging.
The study found no significant difference in feelings of isolation between both on-campus and off-campus students. Previous research indicates that students living off campus experience higher levels of isolation but our study further analyzed students enrolled at UCSC.
Our study helps to understand and comprehend the lives and the experiences of UCSC college students and their circumstances given their background and financial security.
