Insufficient Transportation is Weakly Linked to Students with Disabilities’ Mental Health
In our research, we examined the strength of the relationship between insufficient transportation and students with disabilities’ mental health. We surveyed a sample of 52 undergraduate students with disabilities from an introductory psychology research methods course.
There was a non-significant weak positive correlation between the mental health of students with disabilities and insufficient transportation, and a non-significant association between the mental health of able-bodied students and insufficient transportation. This means that there was no relationship between the mental health of students with disabilities and insufficient transportation, and no relationship between able-bodied students and insufficient transportation.
Further research should continue to explore the relationship between insufficient transportation and students with disabilities, since students with disabilities struggle with day-to-day activities and it can impact their mental health if they aren’t being supported.
