MD Ambassadors is a medical student-led initiative, in partnership with the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. We are dedicated to offering opportunities for high school and post-secondary students from diverse backgrounds to explore medicine as a career. Throughout the year, we connect with high school counsellors to provide information and answer questions about pursuing a career in medicine, engage with interested students through events held at the University of Alberta and off-campus locations, and travel to high schools and universities located within a 2 hour drive from Edmonton. We present on the medical school admission process, including MCAT preparation and courses taken during high school and university, answer questions from students and teachers pertaining to medical school, and offer clinical skills workshops.
We look forward to seeing you at our events, which include the University of Alberta Open House, Discovery Day in Health Sciences - Med School 101 workshop (high school students), RhPAP workshops (rural high school students), and Taste of Medicine (post-secondary students). If you are interested in booking a presentation for your high school or university students, our co-leads, Rachel and Marina, would love to hear from you (emails listed below)! We offer flexible scheduling throughout the year and look forward to connecting you with our enthusiastic medical student representatives.
We also invite you to explore opportunities offered by our University of Alberta MD Outreach partners - Asclepius Medical Camp for Youth (MCFY) and MD Admissions for Diversity and Equity (MD AIDE), both dedicated to supporting students from under-represented backgrounds, with an interest in healthcare.

Chantal has experience mentoring rural high school students and kinesiology students interested in medicine, coaching youth football and fitness classes, and working as a home care aide for adults with disabilities. She is passionate about mentoring and supporting youth and is ecstatic for the opportunity to help students from a variety of backgrounds learn more about what the healthcare career entails through the MD Ambassadors program. When Chantal has spare time, she enjoys playing sports, reading, and playing board games!
