Learning Activity #3

Usability Hub Lesson Plan

In this activity, students will use the online application Usability Hub to learn how the software can help improve conducting research. The purpose of this activity is for students to discover more specific UX research methods than the previous learning activity, that can be applied in their UX research studies. After reviewing and reading all of the resource materials, students will create their own study using the topic of their choice. They are required to include a minimum of 4 sections of the possible 7 in their study. The idea is to gain an understanding of the practical use of the application in conducting effective research therefore the selected topic should be simplistic for this lesson activity.

Resources:

  1. Students will go to Usability Hub and create an account using their student Gmail account. Make sure they select the free plan.
  2. Students will read, review, and explore all the resource materials.
  3. For this activity students will need a research topic for creating a research study. Remember the goal of this activity is to make use of the software features to see how it can help improve the quality of future UX research projects, therefore students should use a simple broad research topic for this lesson activity.
