We invest in the growth and development of our team, and are proud that the majority of our Center Directors and other full-time staff started as part-time instructors in our organization. Whether this is your first part-time job, or you see yourself finding a career with Mathnasium, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in your time with us. For many Instructors, this simply means honing your instructional skills through experience and training and taking advantage of opportunities for advancement within the Instructor role itself. If other aspects of running a Mathnasium learning center interest you, there are opportunities for Instructors to move into roles with additional responsibilities.
Lead Instructor
For Instructors who are interested in taking on more responsibility and moving along the Mathnasium Career Path, the next logical step is usually the Lead Instructor (LI) role. LIs are first and foremost instructional leaders in the center, modeling excellent instruction and monitoring the floor to ensure all students are having a high-quality experience. They also support the Center Director in many of the tasks necessary for the operation of the center, with opportunities to specialize in areas of particular skill or interest. This role is filled on an as-needed basis. If you feel you would be a good candidate for this position, now or in the future, the first step is to read the full position description and speak with your Center Director about your interest. They can help you identify what strengths you would bring to the role, and what skills you could focus on learning or improving in order to be a strong contender when the position needs to be filled.
Center Director
Instructors and Lead Instructors who are interested in moving into a full-time position with Mathnasium should consider whether the Center Director role would be a good fit. The Center Director serves as the primary point of contact for customers, the leader of the instructors, and the guiding force behind students’ learning goals. This position requires strong interpersonal, leadership, customer service, and organizational skills, as well as confidence and a professional, friendly demeanor. Instructors and Lead Instructors who possess these skills have an advantage when moving into the Center Director position because they already “speak” Mathnasium. While there are not always open Center Director positions within our organization, we like to know who is a potential candidate when we do need to fill one of these roles. We are also part of the larger Mathnasium organization, which has over 1000 learning centers around the world, and our Instructors and Lead Instructors would be strong candidates for a Center Director position in any Mathnasium franchise. If you are interested in learning more, speak with the Managing Director or Personnel Director.
Other Director Roles
As our organization has grown over time, we have added additional full-time positions to support that growth. These positions include the Training Director, Personnel Director, Marketing Director, etc. If you are interested in learning more about these roles, and what opportunities may become available as we continue to grow, speak with the Managing Director.
