Capstone Process Checklist
Which of the 3-hour courses that you have left on your degree plan would be an appropriate vehicle for the capstone project?
When will you be able to take that course?
What is a list of possible topics or areas of investigation for your capstone project?
Which professor would you like to work with on the project? Is s/he teaching one of the courses that you have left to take?
Is the project one in which he or she will have expertise and interest?
Have you discussed, modified, refined and planned the project with the faculty mentor you have chosen?
Is the project manageable?
Is it a topic that interests you?
Does the project provide new knowledge, insight, and awareness about your subject?
Do you have the sufficient resources (financial and any other) to complete the project?
Will you be able to allocate the time required in advance of the project for planning, research, and groundwork?
Have you completed and submitted the “Capstone Project Proposal” form?
Have you established a reasonable timeline for the completion of the various stages of the project that allows time at the end of the project for completing your final version?
Have you made arrangements for how to best stay in touch with your faculty mentor throughout the process?
Do you have one (1) hard copy of the completed project, flash drive of the project components, and an endorsement form signed by the mentoring faculty member to submit to the Honors Office for review by the Honors Advisory Council?
