The Honors Advisory Council (HAC) serves in an advisory capacity to the Executive Director and is a deliberative body consisting of students, faculty, and staff. The Executive Director chairs all HAC meetings and together the council advises on various policies including, but not limited to, admissions, program requirements, recruitment and retention goals, research grants and capstone projects.
The HAC Appeals and Grants committee has two primary responsibilities: to review probation appeals and to award funding for student research, publication, and presentation from the Honors Research Scholarship endowment. Should students placed on probation wish to appeal the decision, they should email the Honors account, honors@twu.edu, to explain the context of their appeal which will be forwarded to the committee for discussion. Annual calls for research awards will be communicated to all students for submissions.
The HAC Capstone Committee accepts and reviews final Capstone submissions for approval prior to graduation. The committee addresses any needed changes to the final project and submits their judgement to the executive director.
Comprised of Honors faculty and current Honors students, the HAC Admissions Committee reviews applications for first-year, current, and transfer students seeking to join the Honors Scholar and Touchstone Honors Program.
