In Honors, we believe:

Conferences & Symposia
Each year, the Office of Honors Programs travels with a group of honors students to the National Collegiate Honors Conference and the Great Plains Honors Council Conference. Honors students are also encouraged to present their work at the annual TWU Research and Creative Arts Symposium.
Honors Research Grants & Awards
The Office of Honors Programs provides support for research and creative endeavors to a select number of students annually. The primary purpose is to recognize excellence in research and creative work among those enrolled and in good standing in TWU’s honors programs.
Off The Quill
The AHS Publications Committee annually publishes the Honors Program student research and creative arts journal, Off the Quill. This journal includes both scholarly and creative submissions and is distributed to the Honors student membership, TWU Chancellor and administration, and Honors Faculty and Friends.
Each year the Honors Program organizes a trip to Europe before the start of the spring semester. Past trips have included London, Italy, Spain, Ireland, France, Greece, Germany, and Switzerland. There may be room on the tour for friends, family, and alumni of the program on a limited basis each year.
Graduating as a TWU Honors Scholar is the highest distinction an undergraduate can achieve at TWU. Upon completion of the program and their degree requirements, this accomplishment is acknowledged at the commencement ceremony with the presentation of a medallion by the Chancellor, the issuance of an honors certificate, and special recognition on the student diploma and transcript.
AHS cords are presented at the annual banquet before commencement to any student who is in good standing with the Athenian Honor Society. AHS officers will receive graduation stoles.

Attend first-year only social events and service opportunities planned by your student leaders.
Be a part of the Honors Mentor Program, a built-in support system through your assigned peer mentor and mentee group.
Register for UNIV 1231, a unique course that will get you acclimated to college life and Honors.
