Handing Over Points
Positive Reinforcement does not only apply to lower grades like grades 1 and 2; it also works for higher levels like grade 6. To motivate our students, we also used the ClassDojo points and the draw lots so they would engage in our class discussions. After the class, they need to return the tokens they received to be counted or added to their current ClassDojo points. Rewards are indispensable for our young learners as they serve as their driving force.
Scratch Card
Students who got perfect scores do not only receive certificates of recognition; they also have the chance to play the Scratch Card. This is a privilege given to them so they will continue doing their best in their examinations, and will serve as an inspiration for their classmates to do better in their examinations. In the Scratch Card, they can win prizes like pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, highlighters, a water bottle, tissue, etc. The prizes depend on their luck.
Crazy Face Puzzle
This is an enjoyable way to teach emotions or feelings. It's my co-teacher's teaching material, and it's my first time seeing this. Students will be given random face cards that are faced down. Then they will use the cubes to copy the emotion or face from the card. Once done, they will press the service bell. I got intrigued by this game, so I also joined. I'll definitely use this idea also in my future lessons. Thanks to my co-teacher's teaching style.
