Spelling Game

In this activity, we utilized the teaching aid I bought using the subsidy given to me. Students were grouped into two groups (boys versus girls). My co-teacher called the students' numbers for a more organized spelling activity. There are 19 (7 girls and 12 boys) students in this class. My co-teacher would call student number 1 (boy) and student number 13 (girl) as opponents. Then she would do this number calling to the rest of the students. It's an effective spelling activity because they would do their best to win the game.

ClassDojo Reward System

Students are motivated to be engaged in the class because they really aim to have the tokens to be used as points in the ClassDojo. Their ClassDojo points can be used to play the draw lots, and they have the chance to win prizes like school supplies (e.g., pencils, pens, erasers, rulers) and other items (e.g., water bottle, chopsticks, tissue, lunchbag, etc.). If a student has 10 points in his/her ClassDojo, then he/she can play the draw lots. For every ten points, the student can draw 5 times.

Certificates!

Students are looking forward to their examination results because I made a promise to them that if they ever get a perfect score in their English examinations, I will give them certificates of recognition to show that we recognize and appreciate their hard work and effort to excel in the examinations. Grade 4 Class 2 students have been performing well in their English examinations, and this class has the highest number of students earning perfect scores. In addition, the rest or most of the class really showed a good performance in their examination by getting passing scores.
