Course Work
Participation/Performance - Advanced Stagecraft/Tech Theatre is primarily a participation course. Much of the time in class will be dedicated to designing, building, rehearsing and preparing for school productions, and regular attendance and participation in class is required. Students will be graded on their effort and commitment to class projects and exercises. Some outside research and study will be required as well as some after school and weekend rehearsals and performances.
Design Projects – Students will be required to complete design projects in the areas of set, lighting, sound, props, costume, and makeup design. Design projects may include written papers, models, or sketches. Students will be expected to choose a specialty area to focus their design work on for the year.
You are expected to work bell to bell each day. Sometimes there will be a project, sometimes you will work from a to-do list.
This is the expectation to receive an A in this course. Submit all assignments on Canvas.
You will be working with a peer tutor. These students delegate tasks and serve as assistants to the instructor. They know the rules and procedures as they have been through this course. Their direction should be taken as though it comes from the instructor.
