Directing I
In-depth reading/lecture/discussion/project work to help students develop a working understanding of dramatic action, unit structure, composition, movement, and gesture. By taking this course the student should develop a variety of methods for unlocking, playing and staging the dramatic action. Students are responsible for working with Level I Drama students on scenes, monologues, projection, blocking, playwriting, and performance.
Student will gain basic skills:
in thoroughly analyzing a play script.
for creating and using an effective groundplan.
in scheduling, organizing and conducting an effective rehearsal.
for communicating positively and clearly with other theatre artists.
You will be responsible for a performance in Creeps, SHAKEFEST 2025, Backstage Awards and the Veteran's Day Assembly.
Attendance is key for Directing.
