One Act

Parents,

Your child is involved in our OSSAA Regional One Act Play Competition.  Our public performance is Oct. 3rd at 7:00-call time 6:00

On Oct. 4th we will meet at Edison at 7:55 to get into costume for a first hour performance.  Following that performance we will meet on stage to load out the set, costumes, and props.  Once the Uhaul is loaded, we will travel to our competition site TBA.  We will have to hustle and have all hands on deck.  Our spike time is TBA.  We will have 30 minutes to walk the stage, set lights and sound, and spike. We will travel by bus and return after our spike time.   We will stop for lunch on the way back to Edison.

On Oct. 5th we will travel to compete by bus.  We will leave Edison at TBA and return after the awards.  The ceremony could be anywhere from 5:00-6:30 depending on how long the judges deliberate.

Dress Code:  Both days I expect the students to wear an Eagle Theatre T-Shirt.  If they don’t own one they may wear solid black t-shirts.   I want everyone to look their personal best which means clean and neat.  No blankets or snuggies will be allowed in the competition space. Please, no dirty hoodies or sneakers.  Competition starts when we walk off the bus and we want to make a great impression.   We are here to learn, not nap.   Cell phones will be turned to OFF so please don’t panic if you cannot reach your child by text.  They may use their phones at lunch break.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided both days.  Please have your child see me if they have dietary restrictions.

Our performance time is TBA.  We invite anyone to come see these students compete.  However, please be early, and remember to be absolutely silent during the competition.  Please do not bring guests who cannot sit silently and still for 50 minutes.  This includes guests with a persistent cough.   Be sure all guests in your party know how to silence their phones.  We want our team to have the best possible performance without distractions.

Should we advance to state, we will have a spike day on Oct. 27th and compete on the 28th.  Some time during that week there will be a performance during the school day.

I want to thank all of you for supporting us in this event.  I realize the time and dedication it takes for all of us to make this happen.  Your children work incredibly hard for this program.

Thank you,

Amber Harrington-Director of Theatre
