Hello! I'm Shannon, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years as a health educator. I enjoy blending these experiences to provide care that supports the whole person.
I have a passion for working with children. I also enjoy supporting teens and young adults. I strive to create an inclusive and affirming environment where clients from all backgrounds and identities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, feel respected and free to be themselves. My goal is to provide a space where clients can openly explore their experiences and build the confidence and skills needed to create change.
I use an integrative, client-centered approach, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapies to meet each client's individual needs. My work incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and play-based interventions. By combining these approaches, I help clients learn emotional regulation and useful coping techniques, process difficult experiences, increase resilience, and work towards their goals.
Outside of the office, I am a Mom to two boys, an animal lover with a menagerie of pets. I also enjoy the Indiana Fever, The Rookie, traveling, and finding creative ways to prioritize self-care.
I would be honored to walk alongside you and your family as you navigate your mental health journey.
