Gearing Up for a New School Year!

Dear TPS Staff & Families:

Our school leaders returned last week, and we are all excitedly preparing for our students, staff, and families to return for the 2026-27 school year. If you have not done so already, please enroll online or in-person as soon as possible. You can schedule a tour or time to enroll with the principal of your child's school by contacting the school directly.

We look forward to welcoming our school staff members back on Tuesday, August 4, and school resumes on Tuesday, August 11 for students in grades K, 6, and 9, Capital City, and Avondale Academy, as well as new high school students at Hope Street; Wednesday, August 12 for all students K-12; and Wednesday, August 19 for preschool.

School supply lists are in stores and on our website. We are grateful for the many organizations that are providing school supplies through various local efforts, including Stuff the Bus and the first annual Dale Cushinberry Community Kickoff. If families are in need of supplies and unable to attend one of the free community events, please contact your building principal for assistance.

We encourage families to review our district and school websites to learn more about the new things occurring in Topeka Public Schools, as well as our updated cell phone policy, which is included in the newsletter below. We look forward to seeing all of you at Meet the Teacher Night and on the first day of school!
