We hope all of our students, families, and staff enjoyed a restful Spring Break. It was wonderful welcoming everyone back to school this week, and we look forward to many exciting events taking place across the district throughout the Spring.
This week, we welcomed members of the Kansas Teacher of the Year team, who toured the district with Mr. Troy St. Clair, our Scott Dual Language PE teacher and Region 2 Kansas Teacher of the Year. These inspiring educators met with students and staff, as we shared the excellent work happening across Topeka Public Schools. We were also honored to welcome Dr. Alex J. Adams from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, who visited Sheldon Head Start to see the impactful work taking place in our early learning programs.
The month of March has been full of celebrations, as we announced our Distinguished Staff Award recipients for this year, the highest honor a staff member can receive from Topeka Public Schools. We are grateful for the dedication and excellence these individuals bring to our schools each day!
We congratulate the Topeka West boys basketball team for their outstanding performance in the recent KSHSAA State Tournament, earning a top 4 finish after back-to-back appearances, as well as to the Topeka High girls basketball team for their outstanding performance at the state level. These accomplishments reflect the incredible talent and teamwork of our student-athletes and coaches.
Registration is now open for our Summer Academic & Enrichment Programs. These programs offer valuable opportunities for students to continue their learning and explore new interests during the summer months. Information on how to register is included in this newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support.
