Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, where we recognize all of our staff as educators! We have an incredible staff that makes Topeka Public Schools a special place to learn and grow.
This week, we celebrated staff in schools and across the district. Pictured are teachers from the College Prep Academy visiting one of our Early College scholars from College Prep and Topeka West, who started college at Washburn after her sophomore year in high school. She will graduate Saturday from Washburn and also graduate with her diploma at Topeka West the following Saturday. We thank our teachers in TPS for preparing Carolyn. Our teachers truly lead the way in Kansas!
On April 25, we celebrated our Distinguished Staff Award winners, the highest honor a staff member can receive in Topeka Public Schools. Videos can be viewed on YouTube and KTPS-TV (Cox Channel 14), and photos from the awards are available on Flickr.
We look forward to celebrating all of our graduating scholars next week, and additional information on high school commencement ceremonies is included below. Approximately 915 of our scholars are graduating this year, and we are excited to see our parents and staff at their ceremonies. A special thank you is extended to all of the staff and families for their incredible support that has helped these scholars graduate.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day and an amazing end of the year!
