Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, where we recognize all of our staff as educators! We have an incredible staff that makes Topeka Public Schools a special place to learn and grow.
April and May have been full of celebrations, and last week we celebrated our incredible School Lunch Heroes, as well as our Building Leaders on National School Principals Day, and National School Nurses Day this week. In addition, we honored our dedicated Occupational Therapists during the final Board of Education meeting in April. We thank them all for their dedication to supporting student success.
During the week of April 20-26, Topeka Public Schools celebrated National Volunteer Appreciation Week. We are grateful for the many community partners who invest in the lives of our students and families. We send a special thank you to Advisors Excel for bringing smiles and joy to our preschool scholars with the AE Barnyard event in April, as well as the many churches and volunteers who came together to beautify our schools during ShareFest.
On April 24, we celebrated our Distinguished Staff Award winners, the highest honor a staff member can receive in Topeka Public Schools. Videos can be viewed on YouTube and KTPS-TV (Cox Channel 14), and photos from the awards are available on Flickr.
We look forward to celebrating all of our graduating scholars next week, and additional information on high school commencement ceremonies is included below. Approximately 975 of our scholars are graduating this year, and we are excited to see our parents and staff at their ceremonies. A special thank you is extended to all of the staff and families for their incredible support that has helped these scholars graduate.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day and an amazing end of the year!
