Refer yourself via the self-referral form and a mental health first aider will speak to you in school.

 If you have significant concerns about your mental health, it's always best to speak to a trained medical professional. Please contact your GP Surgery or NHS 111. If you are in danger or may cause yourself significant harm call 999.

Childline

If you’re under 19 you can confidentially call, chat online or email about any problem big or small.

Sign up for a free Childline locker (real name or email address not needed) to use their free 1-2-1 counsellor chat and email support service.

Can provide a BSL interpreter if you are deaf or hearing-impaired.

Hosts online message boards where you can share your experiences, have fun and get support from other young people in similar situations.

Young Minds

Kooth provides free, safe and anonymous online support for young people. Kooth online counselling & mentalhealth service, is available everyday. Young people can log on to access self-help materials, goal setting & one-to-one chat sessions with a qualified counsellor 365 days a year.


A dedicated space for anyone who is is self-harming or supporting young people who self-harm. Includes information on prevention, distraction, wound care and seeking help.


Based in Leigh Park, OTR offers counselling, 1-1 or in groups. As well as support for young carers. Young People and Parents/Carers can self-refer via the OTR website.

Information and support for those suffering with eating disorders. Including 1-1 support online and telephone helpline.

Support for young people have experienced the death of someone close to them. Winston's Wish offer bereavement support in many ways. Counselling, live chat, text service (text WW to 85258), helpline (08088 020 021, 8am-8pm weekdays) and with other online resources and activities.

The Hub of Hope is the UK’s leading mental health support database. It is provided by national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place for the first time.

LGBT Foundation is a national charity delivering advice, support and information services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities.

Support for trans, non-binary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families

The Victim Care Service is a free and confidential service delivered by Victim Support, the independent charity for people affected by crime and traumatic events in England and Wales. They provide tailored support to enable people to cope and recover from the effects of crime. Whether reported to the police or not.

Remember that if the first support that you try does not help, there are so many other options and people who want to help you. Never give up, as all feelings pass eventually and brighter days are ahead.
