Sports Day and Rewards Day

Due to the current weather conditions we have to make the difficult decision of postponing our Sports Day and our Rewards Day that were planned for 15th and 18th July respectively.

Both events will now take place on Monday 19th September.

We know students will be disappointed but we have to put the safety and welfare of all in our school community first.

Thank you for your understanding,

Mr Noble

Weather update

Dear All,

Please be aware that due to the weather forecast over the next 8 days, students will be allowed the option of wearing their full PE kit to school from now until the end of the term. Those who wish to, may continue to wear their school uniform (minus tie and blazer).

Students are reminded that revealing clothing is not appropriate for the school setting and items such as hot pants, or very short shorts will not be permitted. We reserve the right to send students home to change if they arrive in inappropriate clothing.

We would urge parents to ensure that their child attends each day with at least one refillable water bottle, a hat and sunscreen.

If you have any questions regarding the above please contact your child's Head of Year.

Many thanks.

Mr Noble, Headteacher

Young People's Safe Haven

Young Person’s Safe Haven will continue to operate and provide mental health and wellbeing support throughout the summer holidays. We will run as usual with no changes to our days or times.

Safe Haven offers in-person well-being and mental health support to young people living in the Havant, East Hants and South East Hants areas of Hampshire. We have an ‘open door’ policy to all and can offer information, signposting and support to parents/carers of young people.

Young Person’s Safe Haven is a safe, fun, calm environment that is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 5-8 pm. Young people ages 11-17 years can access these sessions at The Pallant Centre (Havant, PO9 1BE).

Safe Haven can provide one-to-one support sessions, wellbeing group workshops, art and crafts and mindfulness. Young people have the option to join in with whichever parts of the session they want to.

Welcome from our Headteacher - Mr Noble

Welcome to Havant Academy, part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). We are a friendly comprehensive school situated in Havant. We currently have 600 students on roll which means that, as a smaller secondary school, we are able to get to know all the students in our care and their families. We believe that the relationship between home and school is vital to ensuring our students, your children, are able to be happy and successful in their time with us.

We are fully aware of the care you will take in choosing the next steps for your child’s education. You, like us, will want to be sure that your child will be happy at school and will go on to achieve their very best. Within our purposeful learning environment and excellent pastoral and support systems we are confident that our staff will provide your child with the motivation and challenge they need to achieve.

Wellbeing Support at Havant Academy

We want to ensure that students, parents/carers and staff, at all times, feel comfortable to express any issues relating to student mental wellbeing. After talking to students on how to achieve this, we decided to provide a space on our website that allows students and parents/carers to express themselves on a virtual platform without having to go to a member of staff first.

The logo to the left is a button which will take you to the designated wellbeing support area of the website. Alternatively, please click here.
