This week we have had a number of our teachers carrying out further learning. Miss Brassinne and Miss Oughton attended our first Voice 21 development day. We will be working alongside Voice 21 of the coming year to further develop our intelligent talkers. Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 teachers have been learning about full stops (which can be tricky to master) and how best to secure them for our learners.
It was lovely to see so many families at our Year 1 'Learn Together' event and how proud the children were of the learning they have been doing in class. Onyx class also showcased their learning in their class assembly.
Today we have said a fond farewell to Mr Nunn who has been our site agent for the last 10 years-we will miss him but wish him lots of happiness in for his future.
Don't forget that next week (Tuesday and Wednesday) is parents evening. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your child's class teacher and see how they are settling in and an areas which you can support your child at home. If you have not booked your appointment yet, this can be done through the website or by calling the school office.
To showcase our intelligent talking and end of cycle learning we will be holding our Oracy endpoint events on:
Reception - Tuesday 12th November @ 2:45pm
Year 1 - Thursday 14th November @ 2:45pm
Year 2 - Wednesday 13th November @ 2:45pm
Year 3 - Friday 15th November @ 2:45pm
Year 4 - Wednesday 13th November @ 2:45pm
Year 5 - Tuesday 12th November @ 2:45pm
Year 6 - Thursday 14th November @ 2:45pm
Today we had a cultural day. The children have 'travelled' around the world and learnt about the customs and traditions of many different countries and cultures. It has been lovely to visit each class and for the children to showcase what they have learnt. I was most impressed with our morning Nursery children who were able to tell me all about their flight to Kenya and the animals they had seen.
Year 3 made Brazilian fiesta masks and enjoyed taking the fiesta outside for a dance!
