This Week...
We have had an excellent start to the school year. Over the holidays the site site have worked incredibly hard to ensure that school was ready for everyone. We are really pleased with the new signage and decorating which has lifted the environment. To keep it this way, we have spoken with the children about respect and how this includes respect for the school building as well as ourselves and our friends. Please reinforce this messages at home.
The children have all arrived looking smart and following the Tithe Farm Way. Uniform is an important way of showing belonging and pride in our school. Please ensure that your child arrives wearing the correct uniform each day and that trainers (including black ones) are only worn for PE days. It is expected (unless there is a medical condition which we have been spoken to about) that all children wear black shoes on non-PE days. In the front office we have a selection of second hand uniform which is in good condition, please have a look at take what you need.
Important dates will be sent out next week and added to the school calendars, please take a look and make a note of these so you do not miss anything you wish to attend.
The Tithe Farm Way is core to our school. It encompasses many different aspects of school life: our rules, our curriculum and our values.
The diagram shows how our rules, curriculum and values, link together to form the Tithe Farm Way which is the shared language of our expectations. In assemblies and in class this week, we have been speaking to the children about what it means to follow the Tithe Farm Way and how children will know that they are following it correctly. It has been lovely to see how embedded the Tithe Farm Way is within our learning community.
Over the academic year we encourage our children to try and become a learning superhero. To do this they must demonstrate each learning friend. I have already had children visit me to collect their first learning friend award! I am looking forward to seeing how many learning superheroes we will have this year.
I am sure that if you ask your child about the Tithe Farm Way, they will be able to tell you all about it.
Asda Reward Scheme
Asda has launched its new Cashpot for Schools initiative, fronted by Joe Wicks, which will see up to £7.5m donated to primary schools nationwide* through its Asda Rewards loyalty programme
When Asda Rewards users shop using their Rewards app, Asda will donate 0.5% of their total basket spend to a primary school of the customer’s choice
Asda’s Cashpot for Schools initiative allows shoppers to raise money for their chosen primary school, simply by shopping with Asda’s loyalty app – Asda Rewards. Customers will simply need to select their primary school of choice within the app and make sure they scan every time they shop - the supermarket will donate 0.5% of the value of their basket to their chosen school. What’s more – Asda will kickstart each school’s Cashpot with £50 once they register for the initiative, and will add an additional £1 to the school pot for every customer who signs up. Asda is anticipating around £500 to be raised for each school taking part.
This offer exists on top of customers’ existing Cashpot contributions – meaning a win for both customers and schools. Cashpot for Schools is the first campaign Joe Wicks is set to front for Asda over the coming months, with his passion for supporting schools, particularly through sports and experiences, matching Asda’s ambition to help families live their very best lives, no matter their budget.
If you shop with Asda and use their reward scheme, please select Tithe Farm as your school so that we can benefit from this.
As the new school year begins, I would like to take this opportunity to remind families to park considerately on Tithe Farm Road. Dropped curbs and driveways should be left clear to allow residents access to and from their houses. Parking should not obstruct other road users safely travelling along the road.
We have already received a phone call in regard to inconsiderate parking when a resident was unable to leave their driveway in what was a medical emergency.
The road immediately outside school is often very congested. Please consider parking further along the road and walking a small distance to school. Whilst you may think this will take longer with the congestion outside of school this is a healthier and often a quicker option.
PE kit consists of a red T-shirt; black joggers, leggings, shorts or skort and trainers. Please ensure that on the days your children have PE they come to school in their PE kit. When the weather gets cooler, they should wear their red school jumper.
