This week we began the week with Year 5 taking part in a Mayan workshop. This is the second of our Key Stage 2 history workshops - they have been brilliant at bringing the learning to life. Year 3 and Year 4 will be having their workshops after half term.
On Thursday 4 Year 6 children took part in the HfL Education maths challenge. The questions were tricky but they worked really hard as a team to persevere and answer as many questions as they could. They certainly made me very proud as they work through each round of questions!
Thank-you to everyone who contributed to our mufti day today - these donations will be put towards resources for the children.
Next week is half term; we hope that all of our families have a lovely week away from school and are able to enjoy some quality time together. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 4th November at 8:35am for more learning!
The school council would like to thank the whole school community for their generous donations to the Houghton Regis and Dunstable Food Bank. We know that this will be well received by the volunteers at the foodbank and that families will benefit from your generosity.
Whole school attendance to date: 94%
Whole attendance this week: 92%
What you can do to help improve attendance:
Set a regular bedtime and morning routine
Get clothes and bags ready the night before.
Develop back-up plans for getting children to school if something comes up. For example: can a family member, neighbour or another parent help?
Ensure that all non-urgent medical and dental appointments are scheduled outside of school time.
Talk to your child's class teacher or Mrs Molloy if your child seems anxious about coming to school - there might be something we can do to help.
Year 6 families, please remember that the closing date for Transfer to Secondary and Upper 2025 is the 31st of October 2024.
The Local Authority strongly recommend you name 3 different schools. You should name your catchment or nearest school as one of your preferences. By law, the Local Authority must allocate places to pupils whose parents/carers have expressed a written preference for that school, ahead of those who have not.
Any application received after the 31st of October will be deemed as LATE.
A letter was sent at the start of the week sharing a change to our school site access after half term. This is due to some building works which are taking place outside Reception and on the Key Stage 1 playground. The map above shows the changes for Year 1, Reception and Nursery. For full details the letter can be found: https://www.tithefarmprimary.co.uk/page/?title=Letters&pid=47
