It has been lovely to welcome our youngest learners to school this week. Both Nursery and Reception have spent the week settling in and finding their way around their classrooms. In all three classrooms, we have already seen the children learning through play and following the routines of the Tithe Farm Way. I am sure they will all sleep well tonight!
This afternoon, we held our first house assemblies. The children in Key Stage 2 all met with the other children in their house to vote for their house captain. All of the Year 6 children who wanted to become a house captain prepared a speech to deliver and then a vote was held. We are excited to see what each house captain does in their roles this year!
Don't forget to check the calendar below for events which are taking place during Cycle 1: People of the World.
On Wednesday 18th September Doctor Bike will be in school during the morning. He will be hear to safety check bikes and make minor repairs which he can. If you wish your child's bike to have a safety check, they must be left on the bike rack outisde the main all when you drop your children off at the start of the day. If the bike needs more work than Dr Bike can complete, you will be informed of this.
The school will be taking part in Cycle to School week which is taking place from 23rd - 27th September. Please watch out for further information about this and encourage your children to safely cycle to school during this week.
Current whole school attendance is 94.48% which is a good start to the year. I hope that we can build on the improvements in school attendance which we saw last year. Please remember that we can not approve any term time holiday and should this holiday be over 10 session (5 days) you will receive a fixed penalty notice.
We are giving raffle tickets out at different points during the week. Raffle tickets are given to those children who are in school on time on the allocated day. They will then be put into the attendance prize draw at Christmas. The more raffle tickets you collect, the more likely you are to win a prize!
If you are finding it difficult to get your child to school, please speak to your child's class teacher, Mrs Gentle or Mrs Ryan who may be able to sign post you to support.
Our Safety Squad are a group of children who work alongside Mrs Molloy to help keep our children safe in school. The group was formed at the end of last year and is looking forward to promoting safe behaviour within school.
As a school we have a Street Tag team. Street Tag is an app which encourages you to be physically active through walking and collecting virtual tags. Your step count and virtual tag collection convert into points for our school and then determin our place on the leader board. In the past we have won prizes for being in the top 8 schools in Central Bedfordshire. If you would like to take part, please download the Street Tag app and join our team!
