We hope that all of our families had a restful half term break. We are now in the last 2 weeks of Cycle 1 - the children are carrying out some fantastic learning about People of the World and will be ready to share this with you next week in their oracy endpoints.
This half term we have a number of building projects taking place. The Nursery garden had a new piece of climbing equipment installed over half term which the childern are already enjoying. Reception are having their own outdoor classroom and dedicated learning area and we are having a smaller canopy installed at the end of the building, this is well underway and should be finished towards the end of next week. The last project is new toilets for the Keys Stage 2 boys; this work started towards the end of this week and should take 2 weeks to complete. We are very excited to see the finished products as are the children!
Year 3 have enjoyed an Egyptian Workshop this week. There was plenty of hands on learning, drama and dressing up! It was lovely to see how well the children applied their knowledge of the Ancient Egyptians to the workshop.
Key Stage 1 have taken part in road safety workshops this week. During these workshops, they have learnt about how to keep safe when crossing roads and how to identiy hazards. This is particularly important with the nights drawing in.
Just before half term, Maya, Max, Sekeenah and Usman took part in the HFL Education Year 6 Maths Challenge. As part of this they had to complete 4 rounds which tested different areas of the maths curriculum. The children worked really well as a team and applied their in class learning well.
The team scored: 139 out of a possible 195. This wasn't quite enough to get them through to the grand final however they should be very proud of their achievements.
If your child is due to start school in September 2025, please remember that admissions is through the local authority and must be complete by 15th January 2025. If your child is at Nursery at Tithe Farm, you do not automatically have a reception place; you must still apply for a place.
If you know of families who may be considering Tithe Farm, please encourage them to contact the office to arrange a school tour to help them with their decisions.

If the support we give families does not improve attendance then as a school we can refer children to a School Attendance Officer. Attendance officers work for Central Bedfordshire Council and support families to improve attendance.
When a child is referred, a School Attendance Officer will arrange to meet the parents to offering support and advice which may help return the child to regular attendance. They work with other agencies which may also be able to help – such as Social Care or Health.
The officer will usually give the parents up to 12 weeks to improve their child’s attendance. If this is not achieved the School Attendance Officer will issue the parents with a summons to appear in court.
School Attendance Officers will keep in regular contact with parents and will keep written records of what has been discussed and agreed. They will expect parents to agree targets for improvement and will review progress. They will also keep in close contact with the child’s school.
