December kicked off on Monday with our annual Christmas decoration day. The children enjoyed lots of Christmas craft activities and now the school is looking festive! We are looking forward to a busy month in the lead up to Christams - please keep an eye on the calendar and for letters which communicate the dates and times of events.
This week, you will have recieved information about signing up to Arbor which is our new information management system. You should have received an email asking you to create a Parent Portal account. We are not using the Parent Portal fully to send information to families yet, but in time, all communications, payments and information sharing will take place through the Parent Portal so it is essential that you sign up. If you are struggling to sign up, please pop to the office who will be happy to help you gain access.
Please be aware that the last day of term is Friday 19th December at 3:30pm. We will be holding our attendance raffle and certificate presentation in the afternoon, please do not arrange to leave early, this will not be authorised and mean your child may miss out of certificates and prizes.
As you will know, daily attendance at school is vitial to support your child to have success both in primary school and as they move into secondary school.
As well as the usual attendance monitoring reports which Mrs Gentle sends when we have concerns about attendance, we are introducing some new stratgies to support families to understand the amount of absence that their childre have. This will include:
At the end of this half term, you will receive and emailed report which gives you an overview of your child's attendance, including the number of days that your child has missed so far this academic year.
Phone calls home when a child is absent over a number of days or where we see patterns of absence. These phone calls are aimed to be supportive and help us to help you.
We will be continuing with attendance certificates, however this will be for all children who achieve 97% attendance or above.
Raffle Tickets for those who are in school on time on the raffle ticket days. Raffle ticket days are always, Monday and Friday but may also be other days within the week. At the end of each term, there is then a raffle draw with prizes for those ticket pulled out.
