This week has been assessment week at school. The children have shown excellent resilience and determination whilst completing their assessments. The teachers have told me that they are very proud of the achievements of all of the children in their classes. Assessments are also an excellent way for the teachers to understand if there are areas of learning that need to be targetted for an individual or group of children. These assessments will also inform the teacher assessment judgements which will be on the interim reports which will be sent home (via email) in December.
Christmas activities: On Monday it is the school's Christmas Decoration Day, the children will be taking part in Christmas craft and creating decorations to make the school festive! We will also bring out the Christmas post box for children to post cards to their friends. When writing cards, please ensure that the name of the child it is for is on the front with their class. This helps the post-people to deliver to the correct classrooms! Please note, we do not give class lists to families. Children are expected to come to school on Monday in uniform - no Christmas jumpers.
As a reminder for families, in the morning, teacher's and adults are supporting children to settle into class and their learning. This therefore means it is not always an appropriate time to give messages to the teacher. If you can see that they are busy and you have something you wish to share which is not urgent, please email the office and this will be passed on. Should you need a message given quickly, please either drop into the office or phone them and they will pass these messages on.
The Friends of Tithe Farm are busy preparing for the Christmas Fair which will take place on Friday 12th December.

We have received a number of complaints this week regarding the parking outside school. Please remember to park considerately when dropping your children at school.
It is dangerous to park on the pavement. By doing this you are forcing pedestrians to walk on the road which is not safe for families, especially those with very young children.
Parking in front of resident's driveways is also not acceptable. Please ensure that you leave adequate space for people to come and go from their property freely.
Consistent attendance at school is to ensure that your child has the best opportunities to succeed both in their learning and their friendships.
Where a child has 90% across a year this means they have missed 19 school days of learning. This is a significant proportion of the school year and means that they will miss large chunks for learning.
Current whole school attendance: 94.2%
Target attendance for the whole school: 95%
