As part of the Tithe Farm Way we are teaching our chlidren about how we would like them to behave in different situations. Our focus this term will be on speaking in class and playground behaviour. In class and assembly the children have been taught what the expectations are and what this looks like in practice.
Playground behaviour:
Know that you must walk from your classroom to the playground using ‘Wonderful Walking’.
Know that you must play safely without hurting anyone.
Know that we do not ‘play fight’ because we may hurt someone by accident.
Know that you must be kind, by including people in your games and sharing equipment.
Know that someone who is kind behaves in a gentle, caring, and helpful way towards other people.
Know that you do not dig in any grass areas (banks, or fields).
Know that you should not scream when playing together at playtime.
Know that, when the whistle is blown, you stop what you are doing and follow the instructions.
Speaking in class
Know that we use ‘SHAPE your answer’ to help us to speak clearly in class. This stands for:
Sentences - pupils know that they must answer in full sentences when appropriate
Hand away from mouth -pupils know that they must keep their hands away from their mouths while speaking
Articulate- Pupils know that they must pronounce words clearly
Project - Pupils know that they must speak with a voice which is loud enough for everyone in class to what
Eye Contact - Pupils know that it is polite to look at the person you are speaking to
These expectations will continue to be modelled and taught to support them being embedded into our school routines.
Next week class assemblies and Learn Together events begin again. Keep an eye on the calendar and emails from school so that you know when you child's are.
This week Attendance Ted is visiting Aquamarine class who have had the highest attendance this week. We are hoping he has as much fun in Year 6 as he did with Ruby class last week!
Whole school attendance this year is currently: 94%
Whole school attendance target set by the DfE: at least 94%
We are currently at the minimum target set by the DfE. In order to maintain or improve this we will be continue to implement our new attendance procedures. These support your childre to thrive and succeed in school.
We will be holding parents evening on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 11th February. Today you will have received an email today regarding how to book parents evening on Arbor. Bookings will go live on Monday 26th January.
In order to book you will need an account on the Arbor parent portal. Please ensure you have signed up by then so you can book to see you child's class teacher. You can access you parent portal either through the website or by downloading the app. Information can be found on our website about how to activate your account: https://www.tithefarmprimary.co.uk/page/?title=Arbor&pid=195
If you have any problems creating an account please speak to a member of the office team and they will be able to help you.
The front carpark is for staff and visitors to the school. Please ensure that if you do use it, that you drive in slowly and carefully; and that you park considerately in a parking bay. The disabled parking bay is for those members of the school community who hold a blue badge. However early you are dropping at school, please ensure you only use this space if you are a blue badge holder.
If you are parking on the Nursery side of the carpark remember to look behind you and not go too far back. There have been several incidents where our new bollards which were installed to light the path have been knocked into and now one has been broken following a rather hefty bump. Replacing new items means that other resources which will support the children's learning cannot be bought.
