We have ended this week with lots of Festive Fun! On Thursday we had a fabulous performance of 'A Christmas Carol' pantomine. All of the children had great fun. Huge thanks to the Friends of Tithe Farm who kindly funded this so that families didn't need to. Christmas dinner was also a huge success with record numbers of children enjoying their festive lunch. The highlight of my day on Thursday was the Reception Nativity. It was lovely to see who confident some of our youngest learners were on the stage, saying their lines and speaking so clearly.
As I write this newsletter, I am hoping that the rain holds off so we can enjoy our Key Stage 1 and 2 Carols this afternoon. This will be followed by the Chirstmas fair which I know will be a great success.
As a reminder, school finishes at 3:30pm on Friday 19th December. On Friday we will be holding our attendance raffle, giving out attendance certificates to all of those children who have been in school at least 97% of the time and holding the winning house disco - so it is well worth being in school on Friday for this!
Thank-you to all the families who have signed up to the Arbor Parent Portal. We now have over 50% of the school signed up which means we are able to begin to use some of the communication tools.
If you have signed up, you should now be receiving letters via the portal. At present we are continuing to send letters through the old system as well as Arbor. Early in the new year, we will stop using the old system and only use Arbor so please do sign up.
Reminder emails will continue to be sent to all those who have not signed up. If you are struggling to sign up, please pop to the office who will be happy to help you gain access.
Whole School attendance so far this year: 94.1%
94.1% attendance puts us just behind the National Average attendace which stands at 94.7%.
In order to support us to improve attendance we will be speaking to families where attendance causes concern in order to identify how we can support you to bring your children to school more often.
Next week, every family will be emailed an overview of their child's attendance so far this academic year. This will tell you the overall percentage which they have attended and how many lost days this is. These are for you information.
We are aware that a lot of the children in Year 5 and 6 have mobile phones and access to different social media platforms. Many of these platforms are age restricted at an age which children at Tithe Farm have not reached yet.
Families, must make a habit of regularly talking to their children about what they are looking at on line and what messages they are sending. This should include a visual check and reading messages. This is not an invasion of their privacy it is about safeguarding your child from harm.
We are having an increasing number of children who are sending unkind messages to each other either directly or via a group chat. Please remind your child that:
People should only be added to a group chat if they want to be.
If someone chooses to leave a group chat they should not be readded.
They should know all of the people in a group chat
If there are messages which are unkind or make them feel uncomfortable they should speak to a trusted adult.
