In every aspect of our daily lives, cultural, ethical and moral questioning are one of the key focuses. In a fast-growing and diverse community, having the knowledge and skills to understand and debate different viewpoints is crucial. This course not only teaches students about the two religions of Islam and Christianity, but we also apply these views, alongside atheist and humanist views, to different themes. Amongst these thematic studies, we will look at highly debated issues such as war, the use of nuclear weapons, the importance of human rights, the creation of the world, abortion, euthanasia, animal testing, the death penalty, and many more. Skills such as empathy, analytical thinking and an appreciation for others and their viewpoints are essential for students who wish to study this course.
