Design & Technology

Students will start Year 9 by exploring different Design & Technology disciplines and developing their skills.

Design & Technology (D&T) is an enriching subject that encourages pupils to solve problems creatively. It is an area of study that focuses on planning, designing and creating products, which people will use! Think about any product that you use in your daily lives: a microwave, a phone, a kettle! Someone had to spend a good deal of time thinking about these items, about how to make them look, and work - that's what Design and Technology is all about.

D&T combines curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity, and channels all three qualities into visible results with projects built in the safety of a classroom environment. Many projects will be completed in a group, enabling students to gain communication and teamwork skills with their classmates.
