This site is dedicated to providing unrestricted educational access to the content and materials developed and utilized during the instruction of the AWT Apprenticeship Program.
The site will be utilized for AWT machining apprentices.
Use this button to access fillable online forms to report OJT hours to AWT for tracking throughout the apprenticeship program.
Apprentices should fill out the form weekly to best report OJT hours record.
The objective of the 1st semester is to introduce foundational machining skills to apprentices through Project Based Learning approach.
Students will complete their first project while learning and applying foundational skills.
Apprentices will learn how to setup and operate the Manual Knee Mill as well as experience basic cutting operations with Facemills, Endmills, and Drills. Apprentices will utilize standard measuring and setup tools including, indicators, edge finders, calipers, micrometers, and surface plates.
The objective of the 2nd semester is to introduce the Manual Engine Lathe setup and operation machining skills using the manual engine lathe.
Apprentices will work towards the completion of up to 8 projects during the second semester where they will learn additional milling setups, additional cutting tools, and CNC Mill Setup and Operation.
