Assessment

All students will complete 2 whole cohort examinations each year.  These will test understanding and ability to apply taught content and will be used as the basis for the predicted grades and progress compared to expectations reported to parents in monitoring reports.  They are also used to inform setting and course choices for following years so it is important that students prepare properly for these assessments.  Guidance will be provided by class teachers but any support and supervision that can be provided by parents is hugely beneficial.

All tests will be conducted in examination conditions and students will require the following equipment:

In the summer of year 11 students will sit their GCSE examinations.  In order to help them prepare mock examinations are sat on return from February half term.  All students will sit three mock exams and six GCSE examinations.
