DP Design is Changing Starting in the Fall of 2025 

DP Design curriculum is changing starting in the Fall of 2025 and after.  Major changes are listed below. 

• Updated HL content is focused on Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering (much more physics and engineering-based)

• SL content is very similar to what it was- product design theory. 

• The IA project is now the same amount of time for BOTH SL and HL (same hours, slightly different weighting: SL = 40% of overall grade, HL = 30% overall grade). 

• There is no more Paper 3 test (long answer test questions for either SL or HL). Only Paper 1 and Paper 2 questions for both SL and HL students.
