The Elements of Research
1.How did your activities and research for this International Schools CyberFair project support conternt standards, required coursework and curriculum requirements?
Our research involves language training through reading and analyzing online information, designing interview outlines, and synthesizing website content. Social studies training enables us to understand the challenges of business and agricultural transformation. Observing the growth process of mushrooms and documenting it involves elements of natural and artistic training. Collaborative discussions on cultivating and cooking mushrooms apply to interdisciplinary learning.
2.What information tools and technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?
We utilized tablets and desktop computers for online research, JAMBOARD for data synthesis, and various devices (tablets, recording pens, phones, laptops) during interviews for recording and documentation. In-school discussions involved touchscreen displays or projectors to review and discuss collected data, and individual tablets were used for collaborative document writing and website creation.
3.How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
The school provided digital equipment and facilities for the research project. Teachers sacrificed their weekends to accompany us on visits, and parents assisted with transportation and support during visits and challenges.
Special thanks to Mr. Shiwun Fang , the head of the Q-YO Group, for sparing time for our interview, providing a macroscopic perspective on business operations, and offering resources and materials for our experience.
4.In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your project both on-line and in person.
Through our research, we aimed to make the community aware of the Q-YO Group's diverse business. By combining traditional Mushrooms production with modern business practices and introducing concepts of smart agriculture and agritourism, we sought to inspire others and showcase the unique experiences beyond typical Mushrooms consumption.
5.Websites and Intellectual Property Rights
All photos, data, and images on our research website were self-produced and recorded by the research team, with some contributions from relevant individuals associated with the enterprise. Proper credit is given to any referenced materials.
6.What has been the impact of your project on your community?
Our research provided a profound understanding of the challenges faced by businesses and agricultural production. By introducing the Q-YO Group's diversified operations to the community, we aimed to bring about new business models and diverse consumer choices. Through participation in the Mushrooms production process, residents not only enjoyed fresh mushrooms but also experienced the joy and meaning of agriculture. We believe this will have a positive impact on the local economy and enrich the quality of life for residents.
7. Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises
Our research revealed the Q-YO Biotechnology group comprehensive business model, extending beyond Mushrooms cultivation and sales to include refined agriculture and agritourism. Experiencing the Mushrooms cooking process and cultivation first hand provided us with a deeper understanding of agricultural production and modern business operations. We hope that our research will raise awareness of the Q-YO Group as a modern and innovative enterprise, inspiring further development in agricultural diversification.
