Physical Education

Physical fitness and healthy living are important to all Western Tech Students!

Western Tech's Health and Physical Education Department recognizes the importance of maintaining a healthy, activity lifestyle.  Our main goal is to keep our students ACTIVE. The Health and Physical Education department promotes healthy, active living, enjoyment and regular enthusiastic participation in physical activity.  Courses help students understand how personal actions and decisions will affect their health.  Courses provide students with a wide variety of activities that promote fitness and the development of living skills.

Our Health and Physical Education courses are offered to all students in grades 9 through 12 and are aimed to show students that fitness and athletics can be fun and exciting.  Healthy Active Living courses (PPL) provide students the opportunity to explore a variety of sports, TGFU games and fun activities on a daily basis.

We offer a variety of Personal Fitness Courses (PAF) that focus on individual fitness and weight training in grades 10, 11 & 12

At the University and College levels we offer two courses:

PLF4M - Recreation and Leadership

PSK4U - Introduction to Kinesiology.

Intramurals and Athletics are a big part of our department.  We have competitive teams in all major sports competing at Regional, City and Ontario Championships.  We have won numerous Regional, City and OFSAA titles in previous years.
