Canadian and World Studies

Western’s Canadian and World Studies program encompasses four key areas: Geography, History, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Students study how people interact with their social and physical environments of the past and present with the goal of understanding the future to become active and engaged citizens. Through a variety of student-focused experiences such as: visits to Canadian Courts, walking excursions through the city and community workshops students develop critical thinking, research and communication skills. These enable students to understand the natural, socio-cultural and political environment within Canada and the world beyond. Courses are offered in all of the pathways including: workplace, college and university.
